RESTORES Initiatives
Initiatives
The Georgia CEAL RESTORES is a comprehensive community-centered program that aims to address and improve the social determinants of health (SDOH)—the conditions in which people live, work, and play—that directly impact diabetes prevention and management, as well as other chronic health issues. By focusing on training, capacity building, and community mobilization, we empower communities to take charge of their health outcomes and advance health policies.
Goals
- Reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D) among parents and children.
- Support mental health in communities through Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training.
- Advancing community-level social determinants of diabetes prevention and other health issues through training, capacity building, and mobilization.
Through these strategies, the Georgia CEAL RESTORES Initiative works to reduce the burden of diabetes and improve health equity by targeting the root causes of poor health—social, economic, and environmental factors—and empowering communities to create sustainable, policy-driven solutions.
